Sometime in the late 1990s, a New York City native wondered why NY area tailgates always seemed so small. After all, in other cities that he'd visited, football and baseball tailgate parties were massive events with music, dancing, and tons of food and drink.

 

He bagan staging tailgates for friends and small groups. Little by little the parties began to grow... from one grill and one tub of beer to multiple grills, warmers, chafing dishes, full and open bars, loud music and dancing. The crowds went from a dozen or so to nearly 1000!
